When is the 2017 Quebec Fiddle Weekend?

Friday, November 3, from 5pm – Monday November 6, 1pm, 2017.

When will I know if my application to attend the event has been successful?

Acceptance Emails (Booking Confirmation Messages) are sent upon receipt of Registration Forms. For more information on the Registration process, please click here.

What are the event registration fees?

We have two attendance packages available: Standard Entry Participant & Concession entry Participant. Further details can be found here.

When & how do I pay the event registration fees?

We encourage you to book early to ensure your spot at this limited capacity event is secured.

A $100 deposit is required upon booking, with full payment due by October 16, 2017. Please note, the limited number of beds will be allocated on a first-in, full-payment basis. After that, you have the option to camp on the festival oval, or on the lounge room floor! Or alternatively book your own accommodation. To register, complete the registration form on this website, and an email will be sent to you with payment details. Payment is by direct bank transfer.

I’m planning to come to the event by public transport – what are my options?

You can take a train to Ballan on the Ballarat line.

Or if you are coming from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, take the Ballarat bus and get off at Ballan.

To get from Ballan to Blackwood, you can call the festival shuttle bus driver, Kath, on 0419 507 338 to book a pick-up. Make sure you ring Kath BEFORE the festival! Ballan is approx a 15 mins drive from Blackwood.

Can children attend the event?

Yes, anyone under 18 is very welcome, though must be accompanied by an adult.

What is a typical day like?

What playing level is required for the event?

To really benefit from this weekend, we recommend you can already play a few tunes on the fiddle and have the ability to learn by ear.

Who is responsible for my instrument?

Each attendee is responsible for their own instrument. We strongly recommend that your instrument be insured.

Can I attend only part of the event?

No pro-rata rates are available for the weekend (sorry!).

You can buy a day ticket for the Blackwood Festival over the weekend, and still see David Boulanger perform, or attend a short workshop open to the public.

I have specific dietary requirements – can these be catered for?

We will endeavour to cater to all individuals who have specific dietary requirements. Please list these dietary requirements in the spaces indicated on the registration form.

What is the cancellation policy?

All payments will be fully refunded prior to October 2, 2017.

After that date a $100 administration fee will be charged. Exceptional circumstances will be at the organiser’s discretion.
